The games are identical, but in Microsoft Store version, all data must be downloaded. On PC, the game is available on both of Steam and Microsoft Store. But not having to create geometry and textures that can be downscaled for last-gen platforms has clearly given Infinity Ward the freedom to push the envelope a bit when it comes to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare ’s graphical fidelity. The game, on select bundles known as the Legacy Edition, comes with a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Granted, we’d be shocked if this week’s Infinite Warfare footage wasn’t captured on a gaming PC, and a powerful one at that.
On a more serious note, we’re genuinely impressed with how good this year’s Call of Duty looks in motion. Not everyone will be thrilled with the decision, but at least there probably won’t be anything as heavy-handed as Press F To Pay Respects for a few years.
